Operation Christmas Child – a gift in a shoebox

You may have heard of operation Christmas child – the Organisation that asks people to fill a shoebox full of gifts for a child – but have you heard of the joy that child may receive? A child who will receive no other gift at Christmas? A 12 year old boy received a pencil case full of pens and pencils, burst into tears and said “Now I can have my own pencils and pens and not have to share with my classmate” One little boy, an amputee, received a pair of shoes. One shoe fitted his existing foot and the other was a perfect fit for his friend who had had the other foot amputated. Another orphaned child simply wished to have parents. Can you imagine his joy when the box he opened contained a note saying the child who received that box had new parents willing to adopt him?
Helensvilleites Nancy Todd and Marion Taylor went over to Figi and witnessed first hand the joy of the children as they opened their boxes. Every child receives their box and anxiously waits for the count of three before they all get to open their boxes together!
