Art Centre events

It’s that time of year again! December is our Cash and Carry exhibition, perfect way to get a unique gift for someone (or treat yourself). All artwork under is $250! Dates of this exhibition are 6th – 22nd December with the opening event ‘Christmas Party’ on Friday the 15th December 5-7pm all welcome.

Decorate our Christmas tree! Jeff Thomson has cut metal shapes primed ready to decorate. These decorations will be available at the Art Centre from Saturday 25th November to Saturday 9th December, come pick up a shape, paint or decorate it as you like then return it to add to our Christmas tree by December 14th.

Workshops for December!

Wine and paint evening Thursday 7th of December with artist Jacky Pieper 5-7pm, all material provided $55pp. Christmas Table Centre Piece workshop with Jacky Pieper Saturday 16th December 10-12, $65 all materials provided, come away with a decorative table piece for Christmas and enjoy a day of creating! We will be closed for Christmas from December 23rd to January 31st, our first exhibition to start the new year in 2024 will be ‘Kaipara Awa – A River That Connects Us.’

The Kaipara River, which winds its way through our town, preceding the settlement of Helensville, and at times defining it, is as much a symbol as a physical body of water. This New Year at the Art Centre, we will be hosting an exhibition which reflects what our awa means to us. This show is open for all to participate in, young and old, and in any media of your choice. It is a purposefully broad subject which can be interpreted as imaginatively as desired.
