Jeff Thomson’s polar bear
Board member Jeff Thomson launched his large polar bear, commissioned by Dave Black, at Helensville Museum and then at his home on 14 March 2021. At 3000mm long x 1500mm high x 900mm wide, the bear took approximately 200 hours to create and swallowed up over 9000 rivets. Jeff says he gained a lot of satisfaction from making it. “Not being a repetition of an earlier work, as so much of what I do is, made it a much more interesting project.”
