The Art Centre has had a fabulous month of activity and we have a great variety of shows ahead to look forward to.
Cindy Vida’s exhibition in August was a stunning display of contemporary yet traditional New Zealand landscapes. The opening night was lively with song and speech, and following this was the artist’s talk which was well informative of her practice.
Cindy also ran a series of workshops through the duration of her exhibition and participants were well encouraged with skills and art they took away from it.
Our next exhibition is our annual September members show. The title ‘Storyboard’ encourages artists to develop a small series of work showcasing the process behind their practice. Please feel welcome to come and check out this diverse exhibition, on until 1st October.
Local realist painter Mike Rowland will be having his solo exhibition this October. Mike is one of the 12 Arts Trail artists. He has an incredible skill set that draws on the great masters such as Edouard Vuillard and Manet, yet incorporating a unique compositional style denoting a fantastical world not quite unlike the surrealists.
November we will be having a ceramic exhibition. If you are a local ceramicist and want to include your work in this show, please keep an eye out for upcoming details on our website and facebook page.
