Pure and Refreshing
During Novembers ‘Outsider Arts’ Exhibition the Art Centre, Helensville, will be celebrating the diversity of artists outside of the mainstream. Art Centre coordinator Pauline Denton says “This is a great exhibition, pure and refreshing as it celebrates a diverse range of artworks ranging from the intensity of those with mental health issues to the pure untamed expression of those with learning difficulties.”
In addition to the ‘Outsider Arts’ Exhibition there will also be a Tactile Art Exhibition in Media Room. This is the Art Centre’s way of being inclusive of people who are blind or have a visual impairment and also children, so no parent need be saying “don’t touch” or “look with your eyes”.
Exhibition runs from November 4th-25th in the Basement to the rear of the War Memorial Hall, 49 Commercial Road. Free entry. Open Tues-Fri 10am-4.30pm, Sat 10am-2pm
