The organisers of a fundraising art auction are hoping for an evening of great celebration, not just for the Helensville Women and Family Centre, as it marks its 25th anniversary, but also of the very talented artists living in our area.
The Art For A Cause Auction will be held on Friday 19 October, kicking off the Arts in the Ville weekend.
Over 20 artists are donating works to the auction including renowned corrugated iron sculptor Jeff Thomson, and local painters Jayne Thomas, William Boyd, Leda Daniel, Arwen Flowers, and Felicity Patience West.
There will also be handcrafts including knitted shawls, embroidery and woodwork.
As well as the art auction, the evening will include wine, food and music as the Centre celebrates 25 years of helping women and children in the community through Family Support, counselling and other programmes and events.
Organisers are endeavouring to have a wide range of art available for all budgets to allow as many people as possible to participate.
Tickets to the event at Kaipara College Hall are available for $20 from the Helensville Women and Family Centre in the old Post Office building on Commercial Road.
You can check out the works being auctioned by visiting the Art For A Cause Event on the Helensville Women and Family Centre’s Facebook page
