Christian Art Fest exhibitor Graham Braddock

Graham Braddock has been on the local art scene for nearly half a century. His 14 years in Dairy Flat as a professional artist specialising in NZ landscapes have been followed by 34 years in Wainui. Along the way, his heart to produce paintings that show something of God’s heart in today’s world has led him to diversify into still life, portraiture, and taken him to Israel.
Graham particularly enjoys creating “story” paintings that contain partially hidden words or imagery. This encourages the viewer to embark on a voyage of discovery where additional levels of meaning unfold only when the painting is looked at closely.

Created through Covid, Graham will be exhibiting Shielded
This painting grew out of the onset of covid and a resultant climate of fear. I kept thinking of the words of Jesus:
I give to them the gift of eternal life and they will never be lost and no one has the power to snatch them out of my hands. My Father, who has given them to me as his gift, is the mightiest of all, and no one has the power to snatch them from my Father’s care. John 10v28-29
Many images hide in this painting. Many of them are not nice, but I tried to keep them from becoming too scary.
