Citizens Advice Bureau

If you have a criminal record, you can easily get a copy of it.
Why would you want it?
In many cases, convictions relating to certain crimes and sentences received are NOT shown on your record under the Criminal Records (Clean Slate) Act 2004. In this case, if you are asked about convictions, you do not need to disclose them.
There are some job roles, where you may have to provide details – e.g. Police or security roles.
It is useful to have your record so that you know dates and details, if you need them, for employment or travel purposes. Note that convictions hidden under the Clean Slate scheme are still shown for visa applications for some countries.
It is easy to get your own criminal record; you just need to fill in the form and submit it with the required personal ID.
The Citizens Advice Bureau in Helensville can help you with advice and forms.
