Innovations have been ongoing since the rest home was bought by the family operation Henrikwest Management Limited last year. The place has been refreshed with purchases that include camera and call bell systems, a bus, a fence upgrade and a gas fireplace. The rest home also now has a new logo.
Residents are being given more opportunities to interact with our tight-knit community.
Recent examples include popular visits from members of Helensville Junior Rugby, who have been sponsored by Craigweil House for their upcoming planned trip to the Gold Coast in 2019 and a regular pet therapy group, whose collection of animals, which includes a guinea pig, a budgie and a kunekune piglet, delights residents.
A promotion initiated by Craigweil House and supported by Kaipara Medical Centre is offering a day’s free care, meals and activities, to non-residents who are over 65 and lonely or needing time out. This runs until the end of November 2018.
An innovation enjoyed by residents is the monthly newsletter, which reports on activities that have taken place and flags events in the pipeline.
Plans are now underway to enter a float in the Helensville Christmas Parade.
