SUMMARY:Turning the Tide Funraising Walk
DESCRIPTION:An annual fundraising walk along 17 kilometres of the stunning Muriwai Beach. \nAs well as raising funds for the women’s refuge serving northwest Auckland\, it also raises awareness of family violence. \nBy joining our walk you are not only helping families make the changes needed to live in safety\, but you are also joining others by collectively declaring we will not tolerate family violence in our community. \nThe inaugural walk in 2017 raised over $11\,000 toward the employment of a part-time advocate. \nFunds raised in 2018 will go towards employing a male advocate to work with men in our community. \nThis year we will meet at Muriwai Surf Life Saving Club at 8am to complete registration and from there everyone will be transported by bus to the start of the walk at Rimmer Road\, leaving your car at the Surf Club. \nAt the end of your epic walk you'll be rewarded with a free BBQ at the Surf Club.
