SUMMARY:Manage Better "Chronic Pain" Course
DESCRIPTION:Family members who live with physical and mental health conditions that need ongoing treatment can get FREE help and support. The chronic pain programme has been rigorously evaluated and research studies found that\, on average\, people who have attended the course have more vitality and energy\, less pain\, less dependence on others\, improved mental health\, are more involved in everyday activities\, and have more life satisfaction compared to those who have not taken the programme. The courseare being held at the Te Whare Oranga o Parakai\, 11 Parakai Avenue\, Parakai\, South Kaipara on six consecutive Wednesdays\, starting on the 12th August from 10.30am to 1.00pm. It is FREE for people who have chronic pain\, for example neck\, shoulder and back pain\, fibromyalgia\, repetitive strain injury\, persistent headaches\, Chron's disease\, irritable bowel\, severe pain due to conditions such as multiple sclerosis\, post-surgical pain longer than 6 months\, etc. The course would also benefit any family/whānau members and support people who live with or care for someone living with on-going pain. The courses have limited spaces available.
