SUMMARY:Music in Parks: Jordan Luck Band & Gareth Thomas
DESCRIPTION:Music in Parks presents Jordan Luck Band\, Gareth Thomas and Written By Wolves. \nLegend is a word suffering from chronic overuse syndrome these days but when it comes to Jordan Luck the word regains its full meaning. This affection is obviously felt among his musical peers who have bestowed on Jordan the honour of Inaugural Inductee into the New Zealand Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame and the NZ Music Legacy Award 2015. \nGareth Thomas is best known for writing many of Goodshirt’s award-winning hits. Gareth’s songs continue to be full of Beatle-esque melodies\, twisted lyrics and non conventional instrumentation. \nWritten by Wolves are are a progressive\, new Cinematic-Rock band that's already clocked up over a million plays on Spotify. \nMusic Genre: Rock\, Alt / Indie\, Pop \nAccessibility: Very limited mobility parking. Accessible toilet onsite. \nThanks to our major partners Zerowater and Oreo and supporting partner MediaWorks New Zealand. \nAuckland Council sports fields\, parks and reserves are smoke-free areas.

SUMMARY:115th Helensville A & P Show 2017
DESCRIPTION:This year marks Helensville’s 115th A&P Show. In today’s fast paced times where memories are often short\, Helensville’s A&P Show remains a steady and beloved event deeply rooted in the heritage of Helensville and its surrounding districts. It’s an institution that has created many memories for all the locals and our volunteers.\nThe 2017 Show aims to make many more memories and create new history. It is all about the animals\, our people and our rural roots\, along with having a lot of fun showing them. The equestrian\, livestock\, horticultural\, and indoor competitions remain the mainstay of the Show and are its stars. With just under 3\,000 entries last year it’s a competitive business and one that allows a lot of talent to be nurtured and displayed.\nThis year we’ve worked hard to up our entries and our game. The “Guess the Weight” competition will be back. There is live music with the Groove Diggers and local band Tweed performing on the main stage during the afternoon. New this year will be the A&P Experience\, come along and have a go at some farming type activities. There will be tractor displays and plenty to look at during the day. There really will be something for everyone.\nThe Billy Black Country Show will be entertaining with lots of danger and hypnotised sheep!!!! In case all the side shows\, face-painting\, marionette’s theatre\, McDonald’s Farm\, pony and Clydesdale cart rides\, traditional handicraft displays\, trade stalls galore\, yummy food and the Junior Farmer Contest aren’t enough\, then don’t forget the Dayle ITM North Harbour Axemen woodchopping competition. The Show will once again be run as a zero waste event.\nGates open at 9:00am till 4:00pm: Adults $10\, Children $5\, Family Pass $25. One great day - One great place.
