Funds flow for breast cancer research

The Pink Ribbon Breakfast for 2017 was again held at the South Head Golf Club on Tuesday 23rd May. And was hosted by Cushla Hawkes and Karen Watts.
The scene was set, and decorated by members of the South Head Walking Group and the Helensville Floral Art Club. The Club rooms were transformed and looked amazing and very pink.
The food was delicious, with a great variety. Bacon, sausages and egg, potato bake, French toast with ham and cheese, a gorgeous bread and butter, berry baked dish, and cream cheese and berry rolls. Then for afters a large fresh fruit platter, and mouth watering red velvet cupcakes and lamingtons. Coffee, tea, juice and water was also available.
All this wonderful food was donated and cooked by many willing friends and Cushla and Karen are very grateful to them all for their help in bringing this day together. I must add that there were seven men, helping in the kitchen and outside on the barbecues, in their pink aprons, and not only did they cook but also washed every dish and cleaned up the kitchen as well.
We had a Silent auction running, and many raffles. With many happy people going home with a bonus for their donation to this very worthy cause.
We appreciate very much and thank all the individuals and Businesses for their donations for the raffles, the food, the decorating of the venue and various cash donations.
Also a very big thank you to all who attended this event and donated generously.
It was a very successful day with 93 people attending the Breakfast and $6577 was raised for the Breast Cancer Foundation of NZ.
