Great place to have a great day

This year is the 116th A&P Show. Helensville’s A&P Show remains a steady and beloved event deeply rooted in the heritage of Helensville and its surrounding districts. It’s an institution that has created many memories for all the locals and our volunteers.
The 2018 Show will make many more memories and create new history. It is all about the animals, our people and our rural roots, along with having a lot of fun showing them. The equestrian, livestock, horticultural, and indoor competitions remain the mainstay of the Show and are its stars. With just under 3,000 entries last year it’s a competitive business and one that allows a lot of talent to be nurtured and displayed.
This year we’ve worked hard to up our entries and our game. The “Guess the Weight” competition will be back. There will by live music from local singer Emilie performing on the main stage during the afternoon. The South Kaipara Lan Owners Association will have a few animals and showcasing items. There will be a Vintage display of historic machinery and plenty to look at during the day. There really will be something for everyone.
All the usual side shows, face-painting, marionette’s theatre, McDonald’s Farm, pony and Clydesdale cart rides, traditional handicraft displays, trade stalls galore, yummy food and the Junior Farmer Contest to entertain you and don’t forget the Dayle ITM North Harbour Axemen woodchopping competition. The Show will once again be run as a zero waste event thanks to Helensville Reycyle Centre.Trade stalls are being grabbed up quick, so if you haven’t booked, please email info@helensvilleshowgr
