Christine and Ernie Smith, who have lived on their Wishart Rd property for over 40 years, take much pleasure in their annual rivalry to produce the winning ‘heaviest pumpkin’ at the Helensville and Kumeu A&P Shows. With their food supply sourced from 31 compost heaps and 4 worm farms, the Smiths’ pumpkins are hard to beat.
