Around 80 people enjoyed the best ever Christmas Day Lunch at Helensville Primary School. Volunteers were less than usual but gave quality time and effort to see us well ahead with preparation on Christmas Day morning.
Children had the option of sitting together at kids tables discovered by one volunteer. Gifts and a lolly scramble brought many smiles.
Once lunch was over many turned to clearing up and within an hour the hall was cleared and swept!
A huge thank you to Helensville Primary for the free use of their facilities, and to all who contributed.
The left over food went to a women’s refuge in Papatoetoe. For this year clean plastic containers will be welcome, particularly 2 litre ice cream boxes with lids that fit. They may be left at FIGG.
