Jenny Holst - Fibre and Void arrangement
Club Day was held on 20th July at the Masonic Hall in Kowhai St.
The Hostesses for the day were Jenny Holst and Sue Glasson. The Title for our designs was Fibre and Void.
12 Ladies and our Judge for the day was a senior, long standing member of our Club, Hilary Bott. We always welcome anyone who is interested to john us in our monthly activities and we have recently had two new Floral Art enthusiasts sign up. We had a 5yr old Novice Floral Artist with us this month, (school holidays) she arranged her flowers and received a commended, which put a big smile on her face.
Fibre and Void was a very interesting Title. It is always amazing how people interpret the meaning of each Title and the designs that are created are very different. We award 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes, also a colour award and an innovative award, which add up through the year and Trophies are awarded accordingly. In the afternoon we have a workshop weaving Nikau Palm leaves
The Title for our meeting August 17th has yet to be advised. All welcome!
