Christmas Book Fair

“The Best Book Fair in the West!”
25 & 26 November 2017
at Helensville War Memorial Hall

Book enthusiasts will be pleased to know that the Lions Club of Helensville is once again holding their popular Christmas Book Fair on, Saturday 25th, 9am to 4pm and Sunday 26th 10am to 3pm of November, in the Helensville War Memorial Hall.
Following on from the success of the Autumn Book Fair in May where $8,300 was raised for use in the local community. Once again an excellent clearance of books was achieved and donated books are regularly arriving which will ensure a new and exciting stock for the Christmas Book Fair.
Nonfiction is split into twenty separate categories, from Animals & Pets to Winemaking including one dedicated to New Zealand subjects, but that still leaves a large General Non Fiction section to browse through.
Fiction is arranged alphabetically, authors from Atwood to Zigman, with six special interest groups, the greatest of which is the children’s section. There is also a large fantasy section.
Helensville Lions pride themselves in making your browsing as effortless as possible by the grouping of areas of popular interests and authors. Books are priced to sell with paperbacks at $1, hardbacks at $2.00and all children’s books being 50c.
There is also a good selection of jigsaws, board games, puzzles, LPs, Videos, DVDs, CDs and quality magazines available.
All funds raised go into The Lions Club of Helensville Charitable Trust, and are used for the benefit of the local community.
Donations can be left at Helensville Copy & Print or call Chris on 09 420 8527.
The last date we are accepting books for this Book Fair is Friday 17th November.

The Lions Roar

You may have seen our BBQ trailer at the Helensville Mitre 10 Garden Party this month as well as our usual presence at the Kaukapakapa Market.
Our Book Fair is on 25 & 26 November so we are busy collating and sorting for that. It will be a huge sale so book that date!
Our next major project is a joint venture with the Council Local Board/Lions and is an Exercise Track in Rautawhiri Park.  It is hoped to commence in the New Year.
This month we have assisted the Youthline Helpline; Angel Fund YMCA Holiday Programme and Women and Family with catering at the Arts weekend.
Don’t forget if you would like to help us set up our Book Fair as a Friend of Helensville Lions, just contact us. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
