Celebrating their 25th birthday, Helensville Women and Family Centre raised over $11,000 at their art auction, held the Friday night of Labour Weekend. Plenty of people turned up to Kaipara College’s festively decorated hall ready for a good time, bid enthusiastically for hotly contested art works and stayed on to dance to Nick Roberts’ band which, amazingly, was able to play requests with aplomb, despite being assembled for the event just hours before. All round it was a great night.
