Artists are invited to submit proposals for exhibiting at the upcoming Exhibition 2018 at Kaipara Coast Sculpture Gardens which will be a celebration of 10 years of offering a wide range of sculpture to the viewing public and a show place for sculptors both from New Zealand and internationally to exhibit their work.
Proposals will be considered that reflect current New Zealand art practice including object, installation, video, participatory and ephemeral works.
We will be specifically looking for works that are informed by the site near the Kaipara Harbour, north of Auckland. Works will relate to, reflect and explore the natural beauty, the flora and fauna, threats to the environment, the history of the land, colonisation and socio-political issues relating to this area, New Zealand and where New Zealand fits in the global arena.
This project is seeking work for installation from Saturday 4th, Sunday 5th and Monday 6th November 2017 with the opening of the exhibition to the public on Saturday 2nd December 2017. Exhibition runs until November 2018.
A site visit is available at 10am on Sunday 28th May to familiarise yourself with the land and the features of the area.
Please email sculpture@kaiparacoast.co.nz to request a proposal form in word document file, book a place on the site visit and submit your proposal.
Please submit your proposals by 5pm Monday 19th June and we will advise you of your acceptance or not by Tuesday 11th July. You are welcome to submit more than one proposal.
I look forward to seeing your proposals and working with you to create a great exhibition for this, our celebration of 10 years!
