At the A&P Show, we once again catered for the Judges lunches and making sandwiches etc. to sell at the kiosk for the public. We also manned an information tent, so hopefully some of you saw how committed we are to helping our community. A busy but fun day.
This month we gave donations to Suicide Prevention and Dementia Auckland. Both such worthwhile causes.
The Lions Clubs International Foundation, to which we subscribe, has now given grants totalling US$1billion since being founded in 1968. Their mission is” to support the efforts of Lions Clubs and their partners, in serving communities both locally and globally, giving hope and impacting live through humanitarian service projects and grants.”
At our quarterly Partners Evening, we inducted a new member, Liss Burns, and we warmly welcome her to our Lions family.
We also honoured one of our long-serving members, Ed Hayhoe, by presenting him with a Progressive Melvyn Jones Fellowship. This is only the second one of its type to be awarded in New Zealand so we are very proud it’s to a member of our Club. Well done Ed
