Moth arrives at Helensville Art Centre

Jane Aldridge, founder of MOTH, now has her work for sale at the Art Centre. Following her university BA honours degree in illustration and design, Jane worked for a UK textile company as a print designer for 12 years. Jane and family migrated to NZ in 1996 looking for change of life style for themselves.
Jane then worked for Pat Henley Design for 8 years hand painting silk. Upon Pats’ retirement in 2004 she purchased the business, re-branding in 2005 as MOTH.
A simpler generic brand name chosen as the origins of the business were in silk, - produced from the moth.
After re-branding Jane has introduced many new products from her original artworks. Her drawings and watercolour paintings are transferred onto fabric and wood by digital means and screen printing by hand.
Her work can be found in the jewellery cabinet and on the sliding panels.
The Art Centre is open Tues-Fri 10-4.30, Sat 10-2.00pm.
