Christmas and the holiday season is nearly here. For some this can be a stressful time.
A great tip is to plan ahead. What can you already be doing now to plan ahead for Christmas and holiday season?
Maybe make a list of things to do, starting to plan now might help ease the load some people find they have around Christmas.
If you are going to hold celebrations at your house, enlist some helpers to share the load. People generally like to help out
but often dont know we need a hand. Make a budget and try and keep to it. Try to avoid anything going on credit as we all
know it takes forever to pay off and ends up costing us a lot more. What presents can you make? Maybe google some ideas.
What can you do now to make things easier when that time of year rolls around when it is really busy?
Try not to have such high expectations that you put too much stress on yourself. After all, we can only do what we can do.
If you did find yourself with a little extra this year, maybe gifting a present to someone less fortunate, or checking on an elderly person to make sure they are OK over the festive season. Have fun and be safe.
Take care over the festive season
Such a huge sadness around the Kaipara Harbour tragedy. If you are struggling or know someone who is, feel free to contact me for a chat.
Part of my work over the years has been helping with trauma and grief, and the anxiety it causes. Our hearts go out to all concerned.
