The Auckland-wide Festival of Photography has arrived and the Art Centre is hosting one of just a few exhibitions open to anybody to participate in. ‘Closing Down’ is a photo taken by vision impaired Rachael Clarke and will appear in promotional pamphlets about the event. “It’s always exciting to see works by local photographers and it was great that Denise Poyner exhibited for the first time in last years festival, it is always a thrill when people first pluck up the courage to exhibit, and I’m hoping there will be even more this year” says Art Centre coordinator Pauline Denton. The exhibition runs from June 3rd-24th with the everyone welcome to the opening event on Friday June 2nd 5-7pm. The Art Centre is open Tuesday-Friday 10-4.30 and Saturday 10-2.
