Crossings coming to Kaukapakapa!
This has been a long time coming, and has involved years of funding discussions, community consultations and political battles to get across the line. The original design was for raised crossings, with the purpose of slowing down vehicles entering the town and passing the school. With the change in government, raised crossings became a political hot potato and has led to them being taken off the table for this development.
The great news is we will be getting two flat crossings, one near the Gull Petrol Station and one outside the Kaukapakapa School, also the current refuge island outside the shops will be renewed and improved.
