South Kaipara Rotary is a new satellite club and we are looking for new members! Join us to give back to your community and partake in volunteer community outreach programmes, learn a variety of new skills, catch up with good friends and meet new ones. Our community outreach activities to date have included helping with the Helensville Santa Parade, preparing and serving at the Helensville Community Dinner. We also have fundraising activities which will enable us to support community initiatives financially in the future. These have included picking and selling organic nashi pears, stocktake at Parakai 4 Square, bagging Kanukas ready for sale, clearing community lots to create a cleaner more open and safer public space.
Planned future projects; include volunteering manpower for a working bee for the new Kaukapakapa playground; replanting a fruit orchard; establishing a programme to teach Parakai School children how to care for their fruit trees; and process their harvests.
We are always looking for more community projects that need volunteers or investments between Wellsford and Muriwai. This Club guarantees a variety of projects where you can volunteer as and when you would like to. Come and join us – we meet on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month, 7pm, Kaipara Memorial RSA, 49 Commercial Road, Helensville.
