It is with much regret that the Helensville Lions Club have taken the hard decision to cancel their Summer Book Fair, which was due to be held 27th/28th November. At Auckland’s present progress through to a level that would allow the public unfettered access to the War Memorial Hall appears to be unachievable before the end of the year.
This is extremely disappointing as this event is a major fund raiser for Helensville Lions but we appreciate that the safety of the community must come first. Thanks to everyone who has helped us this year especially Burmester Realty, Rodney Local Board and all who have donated books.
However, we have booked the Hall for our Autumn Book Fair on the last weekend of May 28th & 29th, by then hopefully the virus will be under control.
We will still have books for sale at the Kaukapakapa Market, which is on the third Sunday of each month, conditions allowing. Also, we will try to hold smaller events, should the opportunity arise.
As a service to the community, we are still accepting donations of books. Small amounts may be left at Burmester Reality, Commercial Road or for larger amounts contact Chris on 09 420 8527 or any other member of the Helensville Lions.
