July sees the start of a new Lions year with a change of President and Committee members.
You will have seen the new Tennis and Netball Courts. The surrounding grounds will be completed soon and then we will be able to install our Keep Fit Stations.
We have planted out more shrubs along the Riverside Walkway and we continue to man our BBQ Trailer and Book Sale at the monthly Kaukapakapa market.
Lions International have sent US$300.00 to assist Lions in Japan with disaster relief following the recent flooding causing millions to loose their lives and homes. All Lions Clubs subscribe to this Fund.
We continue to collect old spectacles, which are sent to the Islands, and old coins, which are returned to their country of origin. They reimburse Lions and that money is used for Youth projects.. Collection boxes are around Town (Opticians; Post Office, St Johns and Hospice).
It is vital that you return your completed form enclosed with your new Lions Telephone Directory. This is to enable us to compile next years Directory.
