Helensville Library and Service Center update

Sally has retired, after decades of joyful and dedicated work in her role as Helensville Library manager.

Sally has worked in libraries across Auckland for decades - and a brief stint in the Pacific. She has been across many roles, and her depth of knowledge is stunning. She has led teams to be the best versions of themselves. Her current team at Helensville will miss her greatly. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1AVj8q9qah/

Auckland Libraries’ Board games collection:

Board games have officially landed at our libraries — and yes, you can borrow them for free!

Whether you’re the slow-thinking strategist or the frantic chaos agent, our new pilot collection has something for you to sink your teeth (and time) into. Browse the collection online or at one of the 10 participating libraries. Place a hold online and pick up from your local branch. Perfect for whanau hang-outs, flatmate fun, or even a date night. Rally your crew and roll the dice today! http://aucklandlibraries.govt.nz/boardgames

School holiday events:

Let’s Talk Rubbish!

Join Ruby the Rubbish Fairy and a cheeky seagull in a high-energy adventure full of laughs, learning and the Land of Fill!

Get ready for laughs, learning, and loads of interactive fun in this lively show about saving our city. The Waste Team will be presenting this show on Thursday 3 and Thursday 10 July (during the school holidays) from 3.30pm to 5pm.

Soft Toy Sleepover:

Our ninth annual Soft Toy Sleepover will be on Friday 11 July.

Bring a toy (not one that needs to be home at night) along to spend the night at Helensville Library. Friday 11 July: 3pm to 5pm: Toy registration and drop off. Saturday 12 July: from 9am: Toy pick up. NB: there is not craft or storytime this year, just toy registration and toy fun overnight at the library.

Photos of the toys’ antics will be shared on our Facebook page after the event. NB: Toys are welcome from people of all ages. They can be dropped off while the library is open on Friday 19 July.
