Kia ora koutou
My name is Emma and I am the new Manager of Helensville Library. I began my library career in Helensville Library as a volunteer 13 years ago, and I’m excited to come back to work and serve in the same library that started me on this path.
I know the area quite well as I went to Parakai School as a child and then to Kaipara College where I met one of my best friends - now husband, Jason. We have a son who has recently turned one and keeping us all on our toes. We also have the added bonus of family still living in the area who love to look after him which is also a win.
I bring with me experience from over several roles from several locations. In my past role I had been working as a Team Leader Library Network Support for the North-West where I looked after the “roaming” Library and Council Service Assistants from Wellsford to Devonport, Helensville to Henderson. My previous staff were the staff that were called to keep library services running in case of sickness, vacancies, leave or to help out in events.
I am looking forward to reacquainting myself with the area, the community and seeing old faces and new when I am in the library.
