Helensville Library and Service Centre update

Thank you to all our participants in Raumati Reads, Auckland Council Libraries summer reading programme. Our participant numbers were much larger than we have seen in recent years.

The highlight of the summer was definitely the visit by Nic and Tory from Auckland Zoo’s education team. We had 50 attendees, including 30 children, who had a fun and educational hour with Nic and Tory.

We learnt about enrichment for animals, and made some enrichment toys for our own animals.  We also learnt about the work of the zoo vets, and practiced our own skills on soft toys.

You can find out more about the work of the education team on their website learn.aucklandzoo.co.nz/

See you at the Show!

Helensville Library will be at the Helensville Show!  Leading up to the show our children’s crafternoon sessions are focused on creating entries for the youth arts and craft classes.

Entries to the youth section are free. The library is a designated drop-off point for youth entries, if you can’t make it to the Show office during their opening hours.  You can find out more on their website: helensvilleshow.co.nz
