Art Centre Helensville

By local artist Raywin Cruikshank

Covid has thrown a spanner in everyone’s works and Helensville Art Centre is no exception. Council rules dictate that we cannot open until we are in Level 2. Until then, you can follow us on our Facebook page.
Exhibitions for the rest of the year
The planned exhibition of Helensville Art Trail work will now be held in March next year. The October exhibition will feature art made by Arts in the Ville participants and, in the media room, there will be a solo exhibition by painter Liana Steedman. This exhibition may flow into November, depending on Covid. The December exhibition will feature art by Art Kaipara members and will be a cash and carry, with art for sale at $150 or under. The workshop room will be used for a separate exhibition of children’s art.
Arts in the Ville
Hopefully we will be clear of lockdown restrictions by Labour Weekend and Arts in the Ville will go ahead. Make sure you follow AIV on the Facebook page and on Instagram, and when a post pops up please share it with your friends.
2022 planning
Meanwhile, we’re now planning for 2022 and asking the community for suggestions and offers for exhibitions and workshops for the year. If you have an idea, please send it to manager@artcentrehelensville.org.nz, with ‘Ideas for 2022’ in the subject line.
Art Kaipara membership
Annual membership of the Art Centre’s governing organisation, Art Kaipara, is $20 for adults, $10 for those 16 years and under. Members are entitled to take in two free submission exhibitions each year. Email manager@artcentrehelensville.org.nz if you wish to join.
