Helensville Library and Service Centre update for August

Meet Bestie

Bestie is our new collection of ten popular must-read books, available from 1 August 2023. They’ll be available in libraries only, on a first come, first served basis. So, you can skip the holds queue and read them right away!

Each of our libraries will have multiple copies of the Bestie books. Spot them on display with a purple and yellow Bestie sticker

Our first edition of Bestie is the We Read Auckland collection. To align with our festival programme, we’re featuring ten incredible books by Auckland authors.

From fiction to non-fiction, crime to coming of age, there’s something to intrigue every reader in these diverse stories of Tâmaki Makaurau.

Soft Toy Sleepover at the Library!

Thank you to those who took part in this year’s Soft Toy Sleepover. I hope your house hasn’t had a glitter attack, like the Library and my place ??.

Thank you to Retts, from Mapu-I-Musika Therapy Fale, who let the toys come and play in her studio space. If you haven’t already, Retts’ music therapy space is magical to visit.

My thanks to our wonderful crew of helpers – in addition to the Library and Service Centre team: Richard, Kate, Sharon, Lisa, Jenny, and the wonderful Jess!
