Business Security has been a focus for our members for autumn, with an unhealthy spate of theft, burglaries and vandalism that our members are facing.
To help develop solutions for businesses we have partnered with three security firms and local Police. Launching with a public meeting on 29th April at the Kumeu Community Centre, we heard from local businesses about the struggles they are having and how they are overcoming challenges.
Then Crime Watch detailed how their business can hook into your CCTV footage and monitor for activity, notifying police immediately that a crime is in action. North West Security was able to share how they can offer discounts to neighbouring businesses or body corporates to undertake regular patrols, providing that presence that an effective deterrent.
Caught Ya Security was able to offer technology and locking solutions to protect your business assets, including alarms and CCTV cameras that can tie in nicely with Crime Watch. We can’t overlook the great benefits that the two Community Patrols in our area provide where their patrols of our business areas also helps reduce crime.
It is time to get thinking about the 2025 Business Awards. We will be launching the awards entries process in July and are now open to offers of sponsorship. We are looking for sponsors that may want to sponsor a prize division, provide local beer, wine and beverages for the night, or cash sponsorship to get your brand in front of our members. Anyone who is interested in becoming a sponsor can connect with Danielle Hancock at any time on Manager@northwestcountry.co.nz.
North West Country business association has also partnered with Te Awaroa Museum and Helensville Railway Museum to provide a Helensville Heritage Festival in October 2025. This event will form part of the Auckland Heritage Festival and offer the community a way to showcase the great heritage features we have in the area. Look out for the Glenbrook Steam Train who we hope to have up for the weekend.
