Pampering and Celebrations at Craigweil House

Residents at Craigweil House recently enjoyed a special Spa Day in celebration of International Women’s Day, a heartfelt way for staff to thank and honour the wonderful women in our care.

The lounge was transformed into a relaxing spa-like space, creating a calm and welcoming atmosphere for the occasion. Residents were given their own spa-style vouchers and invited to enjoy a range of pampering treatments. Staff prepared gentle hand spa sessions with manicures, while some residents also chose to relax with soothing facials. The day was filled with smiles, laughter, and a sense of being truly appreciated.

Experiences like this are especially meaningful for older adults. Taking time for self-care and relaxation can help support emotional wellbeing, boost confidence, and provide a sense of normality and enjoyment. Activities that involve gentle hand care and facial treatments can also stimulate the senses and encourage social interaction, which are both very important for maintaining quality of life in later years.

The celebrations continued at Craigweil House with St Patrick’s Day. Residents and staff joined in the fun by wearing green and helping to make festive decorations around the home. The day was topped off with a special afternoon tea, giving everyone a chance to enjoy good company, share some laughs, and celebrate together.
