After another successful Saker Automotive Shine in D’Ville in November 2017, the Kaipara Classic Car Club (KCCC) organisers are pleased their annual event is going from strength to strength. While once more they had to battle heavy downpours they were pleased with this year’s turnout, which included both dedicated locals and out-of-towners, all keen to show off their wheels and maybe win one of several prizes. The judges, who are not involved with the organisation, awarded prizes to cars entered by two club members - Coral Ritchie’s 1957
Fairlane won Best-Work-in-Progress and Garry Flay’s 2017 Mustang won Best Modern, a popular new category. As well as local participation in the event, excellent support from local businesses shows the community’s commitment to Saker Automotive Shine in D’Ville and is greatly
appreciated by the Club.
To acknowledge their use of the Helensville Museum’s wonderful venue and to show their support for this local treasure, KCCC donate money received in its gold coin collection to the Museum. After this year’s event, Museum President John Smith was pleased to receive $1,300 from the Club.
