Is your wardrobe overflowing, but you still feel like you’ve got nothing to wear? Looking for a guilt-free, feel-good way to reinvent your style? Then you won’t want to miss the Kumeu Clothing Swap & Shop, returning this August for what promises to be its biggest, boldest, most fabulous event yet!
This isn’t your average swap. It’s a celebration of community, sustainability, and seriously good fashion. Think epic bargains, fresh wardrobe finds, sweet tunes, tasty crepes, and a buzzing atmosphere all rolled into one vibrant day. And best of all? Every dollar raised supports Parent Aid North West, a local charity doing incredible work supporting families right here in our own backyard.
So, how does it work?
It’s simple, sustainable, and a whole lot of fun:
Sort & Drop Off your gently loved women’s clothing, shoes, and accessories
Entry Donation: $30 gets you in the door (includes up to 30 items – $1 per each additional item dropped off)
Swap for the same number of items – or buy more for just $5 each!
Enjoy the Day: Live music, artisan coffee, sweet and savoury
crepes, an epic raffle, and more!
Event Day: Saturday, August 10th, 10am–4pm at the Kumeu Showgrounds
Public $5 Sale: From 12pm, all remaining clothing is up for grabs!
Drop-Off Days:
- Wed August 7: 11am–7pm
- Thurs August 8: 9am–5pm
- Fri August 9: 8am–3pm

A Proud History of Giving Back
The Kumeu Clothing Swap began back in 2016 as a humble gathering of friends and family in a living room. Fast forward to today, and it’s a staple on the local calendar, raising thousands for amazing causes. Over the years, the event has supported Women’s Refuge, Dress for Success, the Sophie Elliott Foundation, the Mental Health Foundation, and since 2020, Parent Aid North West.
Last year alone, the swap raised an incredible $22,555.44 – funding over 700 hours of much-needed, one-on-one home-based support services for local families doing it tough. Thanks to your generosity, Parent Aid North West was able to be there when it mattered most. Since our very first event, we’ve watched this swap grow into a powerhouse of positive impact, and we couldn’t be prouder.
This year also marked a brand-new addition to our calendar – our very first Kids’ Clothing Swap, held in June. What a weekend! With over $5,200 raised for Parent Aid North West, the event was a huge success and a true celebration of generosity, community spirit, and connection. From the volunteers and donors to the families who came to shop and swap – we’re so grateful to everyone who helped bring this special day to life. We’re already buzzing with ideas for the next one!
