Following on from last month’s Twist & Turn workshop, the Helensville Floral Art Club met for another creative day, this time exploring the theme of Bundling.
Guest tutor Sharon Banton from the Hibiscus Floral Art Club showed members how to create contemporary designs using bundles of hydrangea pruning’s, bamboo, branches, and flax caddie, combined with foliage and flowers. As always, each arrangement was unique, reflecting the creativity of its maker.
We were also shown a new technique, weaving with twine and 6cm branches. A very special addition to our designs. It was another fun and inspiring workshop, with members learning new techniques while enjoying great company.
Next month the club will hold a friendly competition.New members are always welcome. The Helensville Floral Art Club meets on the third Thursday of each month at the Helensville Masonic Hall, Kowhai Street. Come along and discover the enjoyment of floral art.
