Commercial Road was buzzing with people in high vis vests on Monday 25 September as around 60 cast and crew moved up and down the street setting up shots for an upcoming ASB television commercial made by the company Curious Film.
Founded fifteen years ago, Curious Film is a production company in Auckland whose projects include commercial and feature film productions as well as television ads. The company is notable as Auckland first CarboNZero Production Company and is currently familiar to viewers for its work on the Vogel’s and Steve Hansen Tim Tam advertisements and the film Hunt for the Wilderpeople.
With nine locations around town, one scene was set outside Helensville Copy and Print, which was deftly converted into an appliance store by way of convincing signage and props.
