The 9 April to 8 May exhibition of work by Art Kaipara members ranges from painting, to jewellery, to resin art, to sculpture, and shows some of the diversity of art produced and depth of talent in our area.
Our Art Therapy exhibition, running from 14 - 29 May, is ‘Being and Becoming’. Work by artists Janet McLeod, Leesa Minton-Skirrow and Linda Stevenson. All the participating artists work as art/creative therapists while also maintaining their art practice. Their artwork is reflective of their lives, including their therapy work. This exhibition is a joint exhibition of their work with that of the recent Art for Wellbeing Group, which will be exhibiting work completed during the course. You are warmly invited to the opening on Friday 14 May from 6pm.
Auckland Festival of Photography has chosen the theme of isolation for this year’s exhibition. You can find the programme on the Festival website. For Helensville Art Centre’s participation we are seeking exhibit entries ($5 per photo) that “consider the nature of synthesis, which combines elements to form a connected whole, just like communities.” Work needs to be clearly labelled and ready to hang/display. Please bring your entries to the Art Centre on Saturday 29th May 10am–2pm, or Wednesday 2nd June 10am-4.30pm, or by arrangement.
