We are excited about April as we will be back at the Art Centre! We have been so grateful to the Museum for hosting us over the past few months. I have really enjoyed getting to know the staff, the majority of whom are volunteers! My hats go off to them for all their arduous hard work and their passion for our community. We have loved having different people come through as a result of being at the museum, and all the workshops we have had here which are continually booked up!
On the Shores of Our Land - Group Xl
Our exhibition in April will however still be at the museum. It is a member’s exhibition titled ‘New Works.’ Our member artists have been encouraged to produce works that have not yet been displayed at our Art Centre, so come on down and see a variety of fresh artwork! Dates for this exhibition are 12th – 29th April. Opening night 14th April 5-7pm, all welcome.
Last Blush pieces
Ceramics may start at the Museum but move when we are able to get back to the Art Centre, confirmation of the location will be advised on our website. Local artist Rachel Murphy will be teaching a 6 week slip casting course, dates are every Friday 10-1pm from 28th April – 2nd June. Course cost is $200 for the whole course which includes all materials. This class will fill up quickly so please email manager@artcentrehelensville.org.nz with your name and number to reserve a spot and receive payment details.
Diana Peel
Our Oil Painting with Palette Knife workshops with artist Diana Peel have been a huge success, each class has been fully booked so far. The workshops have been colourful, fun and informative with a completed painting to take away, and skills to continue with. Membership! Joining as an Art Kaipara member allows you to participate in three members exhibitions a year with free entry. Being a member means you will be adding to the arts in our community, you will have the opportunity to present your work in a gallery setting regardless of your level of training or skill!
