What a wonderful year we have had! Filled with free events for the community, a range of wonderful exhibitions highlighting our local talented artists and jam-packed workshops that have seen us through to the year end!
We will be hitting the new year full throttle! Beginning with a 2-day school holiday programme with Rachel Murphy, dates are 29th and 30th January 9:30-1:30 $130 includes all materials. To enrol kids aged 6-12 please email rachelkmurphy@gmail.com.
Mike Rowlands drawing class is back! Dates for the new year are Thursday’s 30th January to 6th March 11-1pm. $180 for the 6 week course, bring A4 and A3 paper, and a range of pencils. To enrol please email manager@artcentrehelensville.org.nz, spaces are limited.
Drawing Course with Mike Rowland. 6 weeks from Thursday 30 January to 6 March, 11am - 1pm.
Mike Rowland’s 6 week course will be covering the basics of object drawing and perspective.
His skillset from training at Elam and work as a graphic artist will be instrumental to this course. Each student will come away with practical instructions and the confidence that can be utilised in all artistic avenues.
Local artist, Mike Rowlands, is well known to our community participating in Helensville Art Trail, his hyperrealistic paintings are an extension of his passion and technical mastery.
Course cost is $180 per person, bring your own materials: A3 drawing pad and a variety of pencils, HB, 4B, 6B and 8B.

Our first exhibition back in January is Kaipara Awa – A River That Connects us. Entry forms and details can be found on our website under ‘exhibitions to enter’ for artists who wish to participate. Exhibition dates are 29th January – 22nd February, opening night for the community is January 31st 5-7pm!
