Local painter Arwen Flowers in her open studio during Arts in the Ville 2017.
Preparations are underway for the 2018 Labour Weekend Arts in the Ville, where for three days local artists will show their work in a festival atmosphere. Many thanks to North West Business Association for their continued support. We’re thrilled that this year their support includes supplying a shuttle and driver to enable people to move freely between studios without having to find a park or stagger up hills.
This year we have expanded operations and will be holding displays and demonstrations in the War Memorial Hall all weekend. The Helensville Women and Family Centre will once again hold an art auction on the Sunday night.
You’re welcome to bring your own picnic, but we are working with local food business to ensure they will be open all three days. There will also be pop-up food stalls, with schools and clubs using the opportunity for fund raising for local education and sports.
Requests for input:
! Because we’d love our regulars to be joined by some new participants, we’re inviting any other local artists who would like to take part to get in touch with us.
! We’re looking for support from a local person who can provide expertise in running pavement art. Is that you? If so, please contact us.
! We’re also looking for help with face painting, which will be a first for Arts in the Ville. Give us a call.
