After doing the ten kilometre Pink Star walk two years ago, Tatiana Daysh had the idea to raise money and awareness for breast cancer awareness. Luckily, Tatiana’s mum Louisa Vevers, who works at the Helensville Post Shop, was able to personally invite most of the forty people who attended, making Tatiana’s dream a reality when she put on a Pink Ribbon Breakfast/Brunch at the Parakai School Hall this month.
Parfait breakfast cups, beautifully decorated mini cupcakes and pink ribbon cookies, among other delicious treats, were served at the brunch. Activities included nail painting, a hand and foot scrub and card making. A beautiful bouquet from Love Flowers and books from Paper Plus Helensville were raffle prizes. Prizes were also given to the ‘Best Dressed in Pink’. Everyone agreed that it was a lovely chance to meet up and chat as well as raise awareness and fundraise $400 towards a worthy cause.
