In the latest stage of its refurbishment, local gym Forge Fitness now boasts 10 pieces of state-of-the art Life Fitness equipment – four treadmills, three upright bikes, a recumbent bike and two cross trainers. Each is fitted with a touch screen console which allows you to bike or run through six countries around the world – which country you run through depends on which piece of equipment you’re using. If you wish, you can download the Life Fitness app on your smart phone to store your workout data on your profile, including how many calories you burned, what distance you went, what machine you used. Other functions that can be accessed include speed times and heart rate.
Forge Fitness owner Richard Price, whose practice of keeping up-to-date with developments in the gym world includes travelling overseas and regular consultation with the NZ Reps and Exercise Association, says Life Fitness is one of the best brands and the clients love the new equipment.
His focus is now shifting to setting up classes in the gym and establishing a boxing gym in Helensville.
