From the Kaipara College Principal’s Desk

Kia ora, Kaipara College Community!

It has been an incredibly exciting first month here at Kaipara College, and I wanted to take a moment to share some wonderful news with our community.

Since stepping into my role, I have made relationships my top priority. Taking the time to get to know our students, staff, and the wider community. I have been meeting with as many staff members and students as possible to listen to their hopes and dreams for the school. In those conversations, one message has come through: our staff and students love this community, and they love this school. There is a deep sense of pride in what Kaipara College stands for, and a heartfelt desire to see more of the incredible things happening within our walls celebrated and shared with the wider community. That is something I am absolutely committed to helping make happen.

A perfect example of this spirit in action was our Year 9 Orientation, held during the first few days of the term. Our newest students dove into a variety of indoor and outdoor icebreakers designed to build connections and confidence, and a fantastic time was had by all. This was made even more special by the support of our dedicated student leaders, who did a wonderful job welcoming our juniors into the Kaipara whanau. You can see some great captures of the fun and energy from these days in the photos shared with this piece.

It is timely to reflect on the fantastic NCEA results our students achieved last year. These results are a testament to the hard work of our aakonga and the commitment of our kaiako, and I couldn’t be prouder.
