Helensville Art Centre – 2026

Welcome 2026! The Art Centre is hitting the ground running for the new year with a wide range of classes and workshops for all ages! We still have space in our after school programmes, courses kick off 10th of February Tuesday and Thursdays for ages 6-11, Wednesdays ages 12-17 to enrol please email manager@artcentrehelensville.org.nz.

Mike Rowland’s Drawing course

Mike Rowlands Drawing and Painting class starts Friday 30th of January and consecutively runs for a 6-week course. Please email if you are interested in the next 6 sessions.

Raranga Flax Weaving course

Free groups at the Art Centre! Wednesday 11-1 we have ‘Gas Bag’

which is a lively group of banter and craft! Please bring your creative project we have extra materials onsite to use also, tea and coffee provided and social fun!

‘Street Maori’ te reo with Leigh Bosch

‘Street Maori’ kicks off again term 1, running every Tuesday during school term 6-7:30pm starting Tuesday 3rd of February, beginner and advanced te reo welcome as we share together and learn from each other. Tea and coffee provided koha donation all proceeds go to Te Awaroa Museum.

Our first exhibition for 2026 is ‘Te Awaroa’, a group show of work championing our local region. Dates are 4th – 28th February, opening night Friday 13th February 5-7pm everyone welcome, come celebrate and meet others in the community.

Our ‘Project Teen’ group completed embarked on a 2 day workshop to end 2025 creating a ‘Giant Wheke’ soft sculpture squid! This has been enjoyed by all with our celebration outside the Library. The squid will be in and around the Art Centre, please feel free to come and enjoy looking at it, sitting on it with a good book to read, and yes your kids can jump on it! This is the start to our Teen Sculpture Garden which we look forward to showing you more this year!
