Tuesday 27 and Wednesday 28 June was a chance for primary and intermediate aged kids to get involved in New Zealand’s biggest mud run series in a version tailored especially for them! In the Junior Tough Guy and Gal Challenge all competitors received a stunning finishers medal, Hell Pizza voucher and the chance to experience the challenging obstacles, incredible venue, hot showers and spot prizes.
With a change of venue required so close to the start date organisers rushed to secure a new venue, Auckland new venue was at the Helensville Tennis Club, Rautawhiri Park, starting by the playground the kids all eager to get going, the new course untouched and clean they were off and running. Through drains, under cargo nets, some had tunnels and there was also mention of barbwire, but I’m sure that was just to check the kids were listening at the briefing.
As they crossed the finish line, some ran all clean from a fresh dip in the clean water near the end of the course, others had found a mud pit to make sure they got dirty, a few held their shoes in hand, or one was off, and a couple had lost them altogether. Asking around there was a lot of fun had by all.
Thursday 29 and Friday 30 also saw the Secondary School Tough Guy & Gal Challenge and Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 July Loaded Tough Guy & Gal Challenge
