Celebrating success - Our mission statement at Kaipara College “Eke Panuku, eke Tangaroa” or “Navigate to Success” means we value and work with our individual students to support them to navigate to their own success, to be the very best version of themselves. As we get older we realise there are many different types of success. Success in life for some might look like personal fulfilment and happiness, achievement of goals, overcoming challenges, making a positive impact, continuous growth and learning, achieving a great work-life balance, financial stability or any combination of these. It is our job at Kaipara College to support our students to know and value who they are and what they bring, develop their individual areas of talent and passion, set goals to work towards, demand the very best of them and equip them with the necessary skills, knowledge and values to enable them to realise their own success, whatever that may be. We recognise that supporting and recognising many different types of student success fosters an enriching educational experience that prepares our young people for future challenges while celebrating their unique talents. At Kaipara College we acknowledge and celebrate the many, many examples of success and excellence achieved by our students. Recently we were treated to an evening of celebrating our students successes and achievements in Music, Art and Drama at the MAD awards. This week we celebrate the exceptional sporting talents and achievements of our students, at the sports prize giving, and next week we celebrate academic achievement, success and excellence at our senior prizegiving. Success is not just about winning awards or trophies however. While this is to be celebrated and commended it is important to remember it is about the journey, the lessons learned, the friends made, the effort and the challenge. There are many, many more stories of success than we are able to acknowledge and celebrate at our celebrations of success. If you have worked hard, overcome challenges, made goals that you toiled towards and made progress then you too are successful. Kaipara College, in partnership with whanau, is committed to growing great young people and we take immense pride in celebrating their individual and collective excellence and success. Congratulations to all our prizewinners and to the many others who have been successful too. Thank you to our wonderful whanau and school community who support their young people every day and work with us to enable them to realise their unique successes.
