Kaukapakapa Pony Club Renovates Facilities

Members and parents of Kaukapakapa Pony Club, based at Sinclair Park, will be busy over the winter renovating the clubrooms and holding yards before the season opens in September. This project has been made possible by a generous grant from the Helensville Lions Club.
Like any local sporting organisation, the club relies on maintaining a strong commitment from parents and the community, especially for organising events, maintaining the club’s facilities and undertaking fundraising. Finding sponsorship for larger projects is an on-going effort, which is why the Lions Club sponsorship is so appreciated. The club run many events during the winter to raise funds, from sausage sizzles to local events such as the upcoming Blues Brothers LIVE at the
Kaukapakapa Hall on 30th July at 7.30pm Tickets are $35 including supper and a fantastic live band performance. For Tickets or more information phone 021 02732235
Over the last few years the club has gone from strength to strength with a big increase in membership, ranging from pre schoolers in the lead rein ride to late teens working towards high level certificates and competitions. The level of riding skills of the riders has been ably developed by the great team of coaches led by Head Coach, Lee Gabriel.
There is also a strong Adult riding membership, many of whom meet weekly during the season for coaching. These members range from people just wanting to use the grounds and ride in congenial company to riders training young horses and preparing for high-level competition.
The riding season will start in September with an enrolment day, followed by unmounted rallies to cover theory work needed for certificates. Riding rallies are held on Wednesday evenings from October.
The club is always looking for ways to raise funds so that the membership fees can be kept at a reasonable level. Further sponsorship is very welcome.
